Before catching the plane to France, I came to Metalo for a Cape Verdean breakfast. On the Menu, cachupa and fresh papaya juice in a magnificent, friendly and welcoming environment. That was delicious!

In 1996, Helena and Patrice Ceselia arrived in Cape Verde to open the first fast food truck. Hamburgers, hot and cold sandwiches and sauces were always served accompanied by a warm “bon appetit”. Product quality, hygiene, respect for people and a tasty menu quickly became a success and Metalo became emblematic for Mindelenses of all ages and social classes. Today Metalo presents a new offer, but obviously maintaining the fundamental values that made the initial project successful.
Since its creation, Metalo has made its mission to offer quality dishes with an emphasis on local products. Today the restaurant still offers a “fast good” formula and has diversified its menu with dishes from here and elsewhere. In addition to a menu that aims to be ever closer to customer expectations and that adapts to the reality of local suppliers, Metalo is the discovery of a human adventure where benevolence is part of everyday life.

The vision of Metalo is to be able to evolve, adapt to the local reality and maintain a diversified, quality, accessible offer that has its place in the daily life of the people of Mindelo.
